2012 Sage Scholarship recipient Reid Hatch

Reid Hatch, the 2012 Sage Scholar, travelled through Laos, Vietnam and Thailand with funding from the Sage Scholarship in the summer of 2012. He will be discussing his trip, his research into the role of Theravada Buddhism in the daily lives of Lao people, and the trials and tribulations of keeping his motorcycle running and on the road during his 2000+ km journey in a lecture open to the public. Reid is a junior at ASU, majoring in Asian History and East Asian Religious Studies, and is in the ASU ROTC. ASU’s Southeast Asia Council will also be on hand with information about applications for the 2013 Sage Scholarship.
